It takes me nearly an hour to do the dishes. I like to wash things separately - first the spoons and forks, then the plates, then the cups, and so on. In between I'm shoving the dog out of the way. Yeah, yeah, O.C.! (And now Shalum just told me that I should be doing the glasses first.)
I don't know too why it should be glasses that you have to wash first. I learned that in high school although I can't remember who told me. But I have this vague memory of washing dishes (I used to wash the plates first) and then someone told me that I should start with the glasses first. And evers ince nga, I've been doing that though I still don't know the logic behind it.

ReplyDeleteAccording to Shalum, you wash the least greasy items first (i.e. glasses) and the greasiest ones (pots and pans) last so you don't transfer grease to items that didn't have much grease in the first place. :)
