Today is a sad day. Just before I reached the office, I received a text from my boss that her sister died this morning. She was only diagnosed with cancer about two months ago, but the cancer was already Stage 4 and acted swiftly.
This is also the 13th anniversary of the day that Cebu Pacific Flight 387 crashed in Claveria, Misamis Oriental. One of the passengers of the plane was Dr. Michael Costello, the academic coordinator of my high school. I remember him jogging around the neighborhood in shorts, and also how he used to drill us when we trained for inter-school speaking contests.
Since it was Candelaria, or Candlemas, after work Nerissa and I went to the cathedral to light candles. I lit mine in honor of those who passed away on this day.
(I took this picture of the cathedral at night, without flash. I just wanted to quickly test the settings on my camera.)
